About Our Team

Our team is small but our passion is great as we work together in crafting world class wines that delight your senses.  Each member of the team contributes a unique expertise and perspective that together provide "the perfect blend of Nature, Science and Art".

Spotted Owl Vineyards is collaboration between the Gishizky Family and winemaker Rolando Herrera, whose celebrated carrier spans over 20 years of great winemaking in the Napa Valley.

Mikhail and Rolondo's lives came together over 15 years ago: Mikhail Gishizky, an inventor/ scientist and entrepreneur in the biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry; Alexandria Gishizky, daughter, aspiring 8 year old and grape taster extraordinary; and Rolando Herrera, a talented and entrepreneurial winemaker. Little did they know that fate had brought them together for a reason, and that reason is "SOV" – Spotted Owl Vineyards.
